Rejoice at the arrival of Ramadhaan – Urgent Elmi Deen Training Institute

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said:

[As for] Ramadhaan, Allaah (’Azza wa Jall) has singled it out with special characteristics, and that is why we should rejoice at its arrival, and be pleased
with it[s] arrival because it is a season of [much] good.

Have you seen the tradesmen (business owners) rejoice when the[ir] trading seasons come or not?

Answer [O] group!

[Of course], they rejoice and prepare for it, and [even] travel to it.

And the ‘trade’ of Ramadhaan is more lucrative – by Allaah – than the trade of the tradesmen.

Allaah (’Azza wa Jall) said:

{O you who have believed, shall I guide you to a ‘trade’ that will save you from a painful punishment?} – soorah as-Saff, aayah 10

This [here] – by Allaah – is a trade!

[That is] because trade in terms of the religion…O brothers, pay attention to this point; [So] trade in terms of the religion is a trade [that benefits] in this world and the Hereafter.

And trade in terms of the religion – if it is not in accordance with the Sharee’ah – then it is a loss in this world and the Hereafter.

[So] you must ‘trade’ in terms of the religion.

[Right now] we are approaching a great season, and it is the month of Ramadhaan – which Allaah (’Azza wa Jall) has singled out with special characteristics.

From among them are that Allaah revealed the Qur.aan during it.

Allaah (’Azza wa Jall) revealed the Qur.aan during it, as He (’Azza wa Jall) said:

{The month of Ramaḍhaan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur.aan…} – soorah al-Baqarah, aayah 185

And the revelation of the Qur.aan is a great blessing, because Allaah Ta’aala revealed it as a cure for what is in the chests [of mankind].

[As Allaah (’Azza wa Jall) said:]

{O mankind, there has come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the chests and guidance and mercy} complete [the aayah] {for the believers} – soorah Yoonus, aayah 57

{Say, “In the bounty of Allaah and in His mercy – in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate.”} – soorah Yoonus, aayah 58
